Solving The Global Warming

                Since the late 19th century, the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans rises and its projected continuation. The early 20th century, Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 °C (1.4 °F), with about two-thirds of the increase occurring since 1980. Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and scientists are more than 90% certain that it is primarily caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. These findings are recognized by the national science academies of all major industrialized nations, and this phenomenon called global warming.

             To prevent the worse effects of global warming, human beings are able to follow these steps to apply. Firstly, as the government declared the reforestation program, we may help to participate with planting trees. Planting trees is possible for each citizen to apply, since the practice is easy and even 7 years old children may do this step. Through this program, people are expected to repair the damage area caused by extreme deforestation for this late 50 years. However, this program may take a long time or at least 10 years to give effect facing the global warming.

         Secondly, the next step to reduce the global warming effect is decreasing the use of CFC (chlorofluorocarbon). CFC is defined as a compound of gas which may destruct O3 (ozone) that is functioned to wrap the earth atmosphere, and reduce ultraviolet radiation. Usually, it is used in the composition of aerosol sprayer, refrigerator and air conditioner (AC) cooler unit, and in foam rubber production. When it is spread out from aerosol, or AC and foam rubber production, it will be blown up to the air, and reacted with O3, though actually CFC also destructs it. Fortunately, the use of CFC in refrigerator and AC is being abandoned in the latest 10 years. The newest technology has improved to be more environmentally safe by using plasma cooler. To participate, we are suggested to choose the new non-CFC electricity products instead of using the old-version electricity ones, reduce the use of aerosol sprayer, and not to use foam rubber products.

             Next, we have to limit the number of private vehicles. The more private vehicles in the road, the more emission gas they produce. The number of new private vehicles increases 4 million each day, in Capital City, Jakarta. We can imagine how a metropolitan city causes the pollution the most, since the number of vehicles that can be said ‘out of control’. To support this solution, the government have to renew and add the number of public transportation. If people can find a road worthy and comfortable public transportation, they may be okay if the government limit the purchase of new private vehicles.

              To summarize, global warming has been really happened, but we are still able to prevent the effect becoming worse and worse through solution suggested above. Though the suggestion is tended to government more, the citizen participations take the part the most. Because the more citizens realise their ability to take a part, the more possible global warming prevented and solved in the future.
